The Client
Mobilization Funding is a specialty construction lender headquartered in Tampa, Florida. They provide short-term financing that funds direct labor and materials for subcontractors and manufacturers — bridging the gap between winning a contract and getting paid.
When Cloud Nimbus joined the project in March 2024, MF's lending operations ran on a combination of manual processes, email, spreadsheets, and a Salesforce org that wasn't being used to its potential. Borrowers had no self-service access. Underwriting was document-heavy. Accounting required double-entry.
The goal: transform MF into a digital-first lending operation where borrowers, underwriters, servicers, and accountants all work through one integrated platform.
What We Built
Four phases of development over two years — each building on the last to create a comprehensive digital lending platform.
Customer Portal & Foundation
Challenge
Mobilization Funding managed loan applications, status updates, and disbursement requests through email and phone calls. Borrowers had no self-service access to their loan information.
Solution
Built a full Salesforce Experience Cloud portal where borrowers apply for loans, track status in real time, submit disbursement requests with documentation, and communicate with the MF servicing team through integrated Chatter.
Results
- Borrowers self-serve 24/7 instead of calling for status updates
- Loan applications captured directly in Salesforce with automated workflows
- Disbursement requests processed digitally with file attachments and approval routing
- Community license management with automated provisioning
Technologies
Open Banking & Document Automation
Challenge
Underwriting required manual bank statement collection from borrowers — PDFs emailed back and forth, manually uploaded to third-party analysis tools, with no integration back into Salesforce.
Solution
Integrated Flinks open banking API with a custom Apex REST callback endpoint. Borrowers connect their bank accounts through an embedded widget. Transaction data and account balances are pulled automatically and stored in Salesforce. A parallel Dropbox integration auto-routes uploaded documents to the appropriate client folder.
Results
- Bank data flows directly into Salesforce — no manual uploads
- Automated nightly account refreshes via webhook
- First confirmed production balance tie-out in June 2025
- Document routing eliminates manual file organization
Technologies
Mobile App & AI Categorization
Challenge
Construction professionals work on job sites, not behind desks. The web portal was inaccessible in the field. Meanwhile, underwriting analysts spent hours manually categorizing bank transactions for loan evaluation.
Solution
At Large designed and built native iOS and Android mobile apps (branded 'Maximus') with photo-based disbursement uploads, real-time loan tracking, and push notifications. Simultaneously, deployed Azure OpenAI with custom prompt engineering to automatically categorize thousands of bank transactions into lending-specific categories.
Results
- Borrowers submit disbursement requests from job sites with photo documentation
- AI categorization accuracy improved from 76% to over 91% through iterative prompt engineering
- Underwriting analysis time dramatically reduced — analysts review summaries instead of raw data
- Mobile app available on both TestFlight and Google Play
Technologies
QuickBooks, Financial Analytics & Delivery Hub
Challenge
The finance team double-entered loan transactions between Salesforce and QuickBooks. Portfolio analytics required manual spreadsheet exports. Project tracking was fragmented across Jira and email.
Solution
Built a bi-directional QuickBooks integration mapping three journal entry types (disbursements, repayments, closing costs) with a custom LWC exporter. Implemented Newton-Raphson xIRR calculations, account-level loan history reports, and loan roll forward tracking. Deployed Delivery Hub as MF's internal operations platform.
Results
- Eliminated double-entry between Salesforce and QuickBooks
- Real-time portfolio yield metrics available natively in Salesforce
- Delivery Hub replaces Jira for internal ticketing and workflow management
- Full audit trail on all financial transactions
